Kid Friendly Tours In Algarve Portugal

Hey Babes,

We are back from our trip from Puerto Rico, and as much as I would love to get right into details of that trip, there is so much I still have to share from our trip to Portugal from earlier this summer.

If you did not read my post about our stay at Golden Beach Resort in Algarve, check it out here. During our visit there, I decided to book two excursions; one for myself and daughter and one for the whole family. My husband is not much of an excursion person, but I am so I decided that it would be fun for my daughter and me to take a tour around Algarve.

If you guys couldn't tell by now, Annabelle is as adventurous as I am; she was so excited that we were going to have a mommy and daughter day. I'm not going to lie; I was nervous it was going to be a long day for her, but it worked out perfectly. My girl really loved adventuring around Portugal. I booked this excursion via our hotel with Zebra Safari Tours, and I have to say I was thrilled with the driver and excursion. This tour was a combination of 2 tours they offer packaged into one.

The first part of the tour was a safari ride (3h30 hours), which includes visiting an old windmill and learning about the history surrounding it. Sampling traditional liquors and "firewater" and tasting fresh honey directly from the farmer who happened to be a cute elderly woman who reminded me of my Abuela. What I loved most was the gorgeous scenery from on top of the mountains. We learned about cork oaks and how you could tell how old they are. We stopped at an old village where Annabelle and I got to eat the best Pastel De Natas and soak in the culture. After our short break, we took a (2h30) boat tour exploring the caves and coastline. We even were able to see some Dolphins, which was Annabelle's favorite part of the tour. I do plan on sharing a video soon of this experience. This tour was a perfect day for Annabelle and I and would recommend to anyone with children to go if you are in this area. I loved watching Annabelle mingle with the other riders who happened to be from Sweden and enjoy fresh plums from the local farmers; no lie I think she ate ten plums. Overall it was truly a fantastic day that I got to share with my little girl. Some logistics of the tour are they do pick up and drop off at your hotel, the charge is 79 euros for adults and 47 euros for children. Gil was our driver and the sweetest man.

The second tour we did as a family and was one of my favorite days of our trip. We decided on a Catamaran BBQ Trip to Benagil Caves & Beach. If you know anything about Algarve, you know that Benagil caves are a must-see. This is a 6h trip from Albufeira to the Carvoeiro Lighthouse, making a stop on a private beach for a BBQ lunch. Sipping on some local wine and watching the views of the beautiful caves was a perfect and relaxing day for us. Once we hit the beach, we ate an awesome lunch and played with kids in the sand. Once again, another great day and well worth the money. This excursion cost 68 euros for adults and 46 euros for kids.

If you don't like excursions or tours, you can totally tour the Algarve region yourself, but if you like to meet locals that love to share the beauty of their country, I highly recommend these two tours and as always if you have any questions feel free to message me or comment below.

Peace & Love
