Traveling With Kids

Hi Love,

A big question I get asked a lot is how or why do I travel with my kids a lot...I find that question to be a weird question because I guess I am use to being a kid that went everywhere my mother went. Traveling with children is not a death sentence or as bad as people make it out to be. Don't get me wrong it's no walk in the park, but it's definitely rewarding  to create those memories with your little ones even if you think they won't remember. My children are 3 and 16months and between the two they have been on dozens of flights and road trips. I was never that mom to cringe at the thought of flying with my child. My reality is my family doesn't live in state so i have to travel for my children to have relationships with my brothers and dad. My younger brother lives in Orlando, my older brother lives in Vegas and my dad in Puerto Rico, all amazing places to travel to, so that's what we do.

My advice for any parent is know your kids sleep patterns, I choose flights they will sleep through and that works for me. I pack activities for my  3yr old so she is occupied. I also am one to learn as I go and don't let the fear of what will happen if they cry on a flight  bother me. I also will be damn if I will be that mom that packs a goodie bag for my fellow passengers on a flight to say sorry for my child crying, sorry not happening. I will not apologize for my child crying ever , now if my child's kicking your seat or being hell of annoying you can expect me to pat them on the tush for being a brat but I am once again lucky that I have not had to do that.

The memories I create with my children is why I travel with them and deal with headaches of lugging strollers, changing diapers in tiny airplane bathrooms and much more. My kids always love vacations and I wont stop sharing those experiences with them. I  want to mention as a parent I do think its important to have  a trip for mommy and daddy as well separate guys and girls trips. Some parents choose to do everything with their kids and spouse, but what works for me is planning trips with and without my children and husband. What works for you might not work for others and that's totally ok.

Here are some pictures from some of our fun in the sun during my Coachella Trip. I hope this inspires you to plan a getaway with your little ones.

Peace & Love,
