Places to Stay in Greece

Happy Monday My Loves,

It's been a while since I posted and a portion was because I was away in Greece and another was I was just taking some family time for myself. I think sometimes I always want to be on when it comes to the blog, but honestly I have to step away from it every now and again. Blogging can drain you and I was starting to feel like I needed some me time, but regardless if you don't get a post from me I am active on Instagram so make sure to follow me @LiiRaven.

Anyway lets get to what you guys really want to hear about, GREECE!  For those of you that follow me on social media you know that I was in Greece a couple weeks ago and when I tell you it was everything I dreamed of and more, it was just beyond. I have always thought of Greece as the destination of my dreams. I originally wanted to go for my honeymoon, but my husband didn't want to go, so for my 35th birthday I said that's where I want to go no excuses. I have never been to Europe so I knew I needed help and went to my girl Shareen of Pearls & Paris to help me plan parts of my trip.  Shareen went on her honeymoon to Greece, so I knew she was my go to girl plus she is one of my favorite traveler bloggers. She helped me kind of figure what I wanted to do while I was in Greece and she also has an amazing Greece guide here that you guys can check out.

My husband and I decided on 8 days in Greece because it was our first trip away from our kids and honestly I can't do longer than that away from them. I wanted to spend the majority of the time in Santorini because that was mainly the reason I wanted to travel to Greece and I have heard from many, you only need one day in Athens. Now since we spent 8 days  in Greece I decided to break my travel post up because there is so much to share in one post, so today I am going to talk about the hotels we had the pleasure to stay at.

The Majestic Hotel Santorini

The Majestic Hotel Santorini was our first stop and I have to say I was very pleased with our stay at The Majestic. I originally wanted to stay in the cave type hotels that have those breathtaking views you can dream of, but I am so happy we chose The Majestic. Here is the thing you can stay at those hotels but for double the price. The Majestic was reasonably priced and in walking distances of the restaurants, shops and the beautiful sunset views. Don't get me wrong next time we head out to Santorini I will try those types of hotels to say I experienced it, but I was happy with our choice because we didn't have to deal with so many people trying to get pictures, because let me tell you people go into these private villas for their pictures  of the sunset views lol, me being one of them, so not having to worry about that was nice. The staff were super helpful and friendly, I seriously couldn't ask for  a better staff and service. The Wifi worked everywhere, so I was very happy with that  especially because I wanted to face time with the kiddies. The rooms were perfect and exactly what I expected, I loved the all the white and loved that we walked into a room with a fresh fruit bowl and wine waiting for us. I felt like we were in our own little apartment with a living space downstairs and bed upstairs. I loved the whole decor at Majestic, it was pretty and for a blogger like me it was a dream to shoot at ,lol. Check out some pics below of the hotel.

The Divani Palace Acropolis

For our two day stay in Athens we chose The Divani Palace just simply due to location. All landmarks were of walking distances and not to mention that picturesque view of the Acropolis, from the rooftop restaurant. I'll talk about the food in my next post because it was beyond amazing. If you like a boutique type hotel this is the hotel for you, the decor is very chic and modern.  The pool is small, but very cozy and felt like a little getaway within the hotel. Once again this hotel provided free WiFi as well as a chance  to visit Syntagma square and Glyfada shopping area with our complimentary shuttle bus service. The staff once again was very friendly and helpful. The one thing I did not like is they did not offer an iron, everything had to be dry cleaned, so if you are on a budget make sure you bring a steamer. I had the luck of my euro plug not working so I couldn't use my steamer, but overall it was a great stay and I highly recomend.
