The Disneys Yacht Club Resort

Hi babes, as most of you know a few weeks ago I attended a trip with the Disney team. I have to say it was a different experience than most of my Disney trips, but I promise in a good way. Most of the time when I get invited to these Disney trips I don't know the itinerary until I get to the hotel. When I checked into my hotel (Animal Kingdom Resort ), I was excited to find out we were going to be touring Disney Hotels. Anytime I plan a Disney Trip the number one question I get from you guys is where should you stay on Disney property. Now as much as I love Disney, you would be surprised that I have only had the opportunity to visit three different locations on Disney property, so as you can imagine this was always a challenging question for me to answer. Knowing that I was going to see each hotel and what it can offer Disney guests had me excited mainly because I knew I could now share with you guys all about their resorts. I was going to break down the trip by each day, but felt it wouldn't be fair to you guys if I didn't dedicate a post for each hotel instead, so with that said let's get into the first hotel.
Our very first hotel was The Disney Yacht Club. The Yacht Club is a deluxe level hotel at Walt Disney World. When I say Deluxe resort, it merely means that these are Disney’s best hotels. The Yacht Club has one of the best locations on the property; I say this because it is one of the few hotels you can walk to two parks(Epcot and Hollywood Studios). If you are a person that likes to save your walking for inside the parks, you can take a boat to Hollywood Studios (runs every 15 minutes) and Epcot (about half the Hollywood studio ride). There is also the bus or Minni Van options for all other Parks and Disney Springs. I love that this hotel is so close and you don't have to worry about having a car.
Playing off the name The Disney Yacht Club has a nautical theme throughout the resort. You can even try to find a hidden gem(Mickey Head) on the globe in the lobby. The room bedding is embroidered with miniature anchors adding to the nautical theme, which I thought was so cute. French doors lead out to the spacious balconies or patios which I have to say I love. I am a sucker for balconies and views and as you can see calls for a cute photo op. We were able to see a standard room and the Admiral Suite which I have to tell you that you won't be disappointed with either one.
The Standard Rooms are spacious and either come with two queen-size beds or one king. Most rooms come with a pull out sofa adorn with striped pillows — the decor consist of porthole-style mirrors, dresser with a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. The Disney-inspired constellation themed navy curtains give these rooms that added special touch. The bath holds double sinks in a dark wood vanity, and the best lighting( something rare in any hotel). I am serious the lighting was the best in the Yacht Club.
The Admiral Suite overlooks the board walk and lake and by far my favorite room I saw on any location on Disney property. The Admiral Suite is decorated in shades of navy, and cream colors. There are two living areas, both with hardwood flooring and nautical-style area rugs. The porthole-style windows give these rooms such a great touch and are picture worthy for you and your family. There is an eight-person dining room with a little kitchenette area. The master bedroom offers a king bed, a comfortable chair, dresser, and TV. The marble master bathroom is accessible with a roll-in shower, two sinks, tub, and toilet. A second bedroom holds two queen beds. Balconies can be found in each bedroom, and my favorite is the one-person balcony off the dining area.
The Yacht Club, Stormalong Bay, is like a mini-water park, and love that it can be a full day entertainment for your little ones if you want to take a break from the parks. There is a great water-slide that sits in a shipwreck that your kids are sure to love. There is a lazy river that you and the family can float in inner tubes. I also love that they have a mini kiddie pool also equipped with a slide. There is a quieter pool for those of you that want to relax away from children. Disney has you covered with some great poolside activities that are scheduled each afternoon.
Disney never fails when it comes to food, so I have to say you have plenty of options at The Yacht Club. I wasn’t able to eat at any of these places, but I am sure I would have loved the selection because I never am disappointed with Disney’s food.
